El Manto Bar of the American River

I love to trot down to the American River. On reason, is the fact it is so close to my house. I can't get enough of it. Also, I have seen some big Salmon come by me. Also the wild life that is in the American River parkway is very refreshing to see. The one thing that you have to do when you here is to watch out where you are wading at. I started to get about waist high in the water, but I found myself moving downstream. I could not move back towards the shore and started to drift out to the middle of the river. Now the American River is not a little stream. Luckily for me, I am 6'2", so I can tip-toe a bit. I made it to the far side of the river without drowning, but now I had to plan a way to get back on the side I started at. From you reading this post, you can tell I made it back, but I did get a bit wet. I didn't have to swim, but the water did creep up on me. I was more worried about the current, because it is strong on the American. People die all the time trying to mess around in it. I am happy to type for another day
